Visiting Machu Picchu is a unique experience, one that you would not like to miss any details when you embark on this tour to visit Machu Picchu via train from Ollantaytambo we will describe you all the details.
we will start in the early hours of the morning and depending with our train departure time to Machu Picchu we will get to Ollantaytambo at 3:30 a.m. (if our train departs at 5:00 a.m.) or if our train departs a little later we will depart Cusco at 4:30 a.m. (if our train departs at 6.40 a.m.) so you can direct yourself to the train station, in the village of Ollantaytambo.
In this village we will take the train which will direct us for two hours until we arrive at the village of Machu Picchu or Aguas Calientes approximately (the arrival to this destination depends on the hour you have acquired) on our arrival to the train station we will be received by our transfer which will direct us to our hotel in order to reunite with our tour guide, who will accompany us in Machu Picchu.
Afterwards we will direct ourselves to take the bus that will take us to the Incan Citadel of Machu Picchu. This journey will take an approximation of 30 minutes. Following this journey we will rejoin the group alongside the guide, where will we have a guided tour that will last 2 hours through the New World Wonder, Machu Picchu, after this time we will be granted some free time in order to enjoy the Incan citadel of Machu Picchu on your own behalf.
Continuing with our itinerary and with coordination of the guide, we will direct ourselves to the village of Machu Picchu in order to have lunch (lunch not included in the tour) and depending on our train return time time to Ollantaytambo we will make our way to the train station.
On our arrival at the Ollantaytambo train station, our transfer will be waiting for us at the exit located in the train station to get to our bus and return to the city of Cusco, our arrival to Cusco will depend on our return train schedule from the village of Machu Picchu in case we you board the train which departs at 14:55 hrs you will be arriving into the city of Cusco at approximately 19:00 hrs and in case your return trail will be at 14:30 you will be arriving at around 18:30 hrs in Ollantaytambo.
When we arrive in Cusco, our transportation will dispatch us in Plaza San Francisco and with this, finalise our tour of Machu Picchu full day.
In order to get to Machu Picchu there only exists one form of access via rail, however, many tourists who visit Machu Picchu do not use this form of access, in this day and age many prefer to walk and appreciate the beautiful landscapes and climate that this zone of Peru has to offer us, there exists routes such as Machu Picchu By Car, Inca Trail and Salkantay Trekking which connects the tourists to Machu Picchu.
